Well hello there. Do you smell that? No, no it’s not the smell of people getting sunburn. It’s not the smell of sunscreen or the ocean, or anything summer related for that matter. It’s something much, much better. It’s the smell of update. And isn’t it delicious? I’m getting into the habit of not posting for long bits of time; as if people actually care. I’ll try to do better, because I like venting to my nonexistent readers.

I’ve noticed lately that it’s easy for people to complain. Just today, someone said that they were considering running away from home because they got their cell phone taken away and their parents are going to stay with them at the mall every time they go. I must admit, this did tick me off a little bit. There were so many things I wanted to yell in their face. This person proved to me that they lacked even more substance then I thought they had. Maybe it’s just us being fat, lazy, spoiled Americans. Sometimes I really wish I could shove all my opinions in a pill and force feed it to all of America, but that has yet to be proven successful.

I have a lot on my mind, but it’s all being meshed together. I’m having a hard time deciding where I stand.

I saw Juno for the first time today. It was a lot better and a lot smarter than I thought it would be. I think the soundtrack is really different than what I would normally listen to, but I like it.

April 16 will be the day of my demise. Just in case I don't update until then again, say your goodbye's. At least 3 of some of my favorite bands are playing with-in 30 minutes of where I live - All Time Low, Forever The Sickest Kids, and We the Kings. I can't go to any of the shows.

I have a weird feeling about all of this. I know I'm going to regret this post because I'm under the influence of wanting to go to bed. Don't believe anything I say.

In this month’s issue of AP, All Time Low covered in the “100 Bands You Should Know” issue. Inside there was an article that really got me thinking. The question was, “Do you think it’s harder for new kids to join the scene?” Obviously, the only reason it would be harder would be because people would judge you and label you a poser or a fake. There are two endlessly arguable sides as to what is right.

Opinion 1: Judging people is wrong. Shouldn’t it be about the music? Why would you dislike someone because of what kind of music they like? Just because someone shares the same interests as you doesn’t mean they’re trying to be like you. There really isn’t a reason not to accept someone trying to get in with the scene.

Opinion 2: It’s human nature to judge someone. It’s what we do. And sometimes it’s a good thing. There are a lot of preppy kids out there in Green Day shirts thinking that makes them hardcore. And besides, who wants to get caught in a mosh with someone who is afraid to break a nail and only showed up because they think the drummer has cute hair? The truth is, there are posers and fakes out there giving a bad name to real fans everywhere.

But that doesn’t mean some new kids aren’t true fans. All the scene veterans were once the new kids, being judged themselves. The trick is finding a balance between the two opinions. Talk to the new kids and get to know them first before you slap a poser stamp on their forehead. Eventually, it becomes pretty obvious who’s real and who’s fake.

In my opinion, “poser” and “sellout” are two of the most over used terms ever. Don’t label people posers unless you’ve given them a chance to prove themselves otherwise. Don’t label a band sellout because they have a successful album that attracted more listeners and media attention. Just because they’re pulling in a few extra bucks doesn’t mean they’re not in it for the music.

Isn’t it a generally accepted idea that every one is a unique and one-of-a-kind? If that’s true, then if you change yourself to fit in with the scene or be punk or something like that to be different, then what are you really doing?

Shame is stupid.

Tomorrow is Valentines Day. I only have one thing to say about that - Screw it. Who needs a silly holiday created for profit by card companies anyways? I personally think it affects people’s self-esteem too much. But while my friends are running around with their silly little valentines, I’m very lucky to have four. I’m hereby deeming the four kids of Fall Out Boy my Valentines. I know a lot of people are saying that, I’m cool with sharing.

There is absolutley nothing to do with no power. I read a lot, but I do that a lot normally. I tried to write some, but it's hard to write with a flashlight in your hand. My dad didn't trust me with the pyro, (which I found hilarious) so I couldn't write by candle light either.

We finally got our power back today. I was so happy. The last two days, I've been so nervous that Trohman would finally post something right when I couldn't get on, but of course that kid has yet to update. It's kind of sad when a percentage of your sanity depends on some kid you don't even know. But that's ok, because Fall Out Boy sort of plays a huge part in my life.

Fifty plus people died in that storm through out the southeast. There were tornadoes and winds that destroyed homes, including one on my street. Mother Nature's a bitch.
